Mike Southon

Mike Southon is a serial entrepreneur, best-selling author and one of the world’s top business speakers on entrepreneurship. He co-founded The Instruction Set in January 1984, a computer training company which grew to 150 employees internationally with a turnover of £7.5M before being sold in 1989 for what Mike labels “an offer we couldn’t refuse.” He is co-author of the best-selling business book, The Beermat Entrepreneur.
Mike talks us through the ideation, growth and sale of The Instruction Set and gives us a tour of locations in London that had significance in the company’s story. He also talks in detail about his boarding school upbringing, his ventures since The Instruction Set and the joy of mentoring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
